- Abstract:
- This, the second forestry movement in the United States, lasted from 1780 to 1840. The policy of the government at this time was not, as it now is, to reserve the forests for the benefit of the people; but it was to reserve them for the use the United States Navy.
- In following this movement I shall present what information I have been able to get in chronological order, and shall include some references to lumbering and the lumbering industry.
