- A. C. Cline, general director of Harvard Forest and H. B. Shepard, a consulting forester from Boston, led forestry students in a survey of the market for wood from New England Forests. Cooperating with F. M. West of the New England Box Company, the students (Hosley, Albright, Powell and Davis) interviewed 40 representative Springfield, MA manufacturers that used wood either for stock purposes or for boxing and crating.
