- Those industries of central New England that are dependent on local timber are rapidly approaching the time for a critical decision. Many of these industries own forest land, and, after a fashion, practice forestry. Not the forestry as known to technical foresters but a practical application of basic principals of forestry. And this practice is not applied, as such, to their own land but to the region with which this article is concerned.
