- The National Association of Gardeners (Boston Branch) and The Massachusetts Horticultural Society presented a Science Course for Gardeners in Horticultural Hall, Boston, MA in October and November, 1937. Dr. Raup gave a lecture on "Ecological factors which influence the growth and health of shade trees. A onsideration of tree planting from the point of view of soil types, climatic adaptation and other natural preferences of the plants themselves."
