  • In the early summer of 1936 the attention of the writer [J. R. Hansbrough] was called to a disease of planted Norway spruce on the Harvard Forest. Casual observation indicated that the disturbance was of sufficient importance locally to merit detailed investigation.

  • The purpose of this experiment is to test the effects of various fertilizers on the host resistance of selected trees to the development of Cytospora spp. in a Norway spruce plantation.

  • The purpose of this experiment is to determine the effects of thinning on the disease Cytospora spp.
  
  
  • Co-experiment 37-3: Inoculation of healthy Norway spruce.
