  • The Harvard Graduate School of Public Administration was founded in 1936 with a gift from Harvard College alumnu, Lucius Littauer. In this speech, Shepard proposes an endowment for advanced research and instruction in the conservation of natural resources. He expresses hope for Harvard Forest, through the proposed endowment fund, to continue and strengthen its contribution to the field of forest conservation in collaboration with other departments of the University.
