- The International Seed Origin Experiment was undertaken to investigate the behavior of different origins of scotch pine and Norway spruce.
- Cabot Foundation scientists studied seeds from international sources to analyze how different provenances (geographic origins) affected the height, survival, and climate adaptability of the trees. (Project NI38 and NI40)
