- Abstract:
- Seed quality is of increasing concern in the production of planting stock. Certain aspects of the problems associated with seed quality, viz., the condition of tree, size of cone, and location of seed incone as they affect the size of the seed, germination and size of seedling arise in progeny tests in genetic and nutritional studies. The reports in forestry literature on studies of such relations are so contradictory as to prevent the drawing of conclusions. Evidence as to possible sources of disagreement is here presented.
