- Forest planting in the Harvard Forest has taken various and sundry forms. Experiments with many species, both native and exotic, have been tried under a number of different conditions of site, spacing, and mixture. Results have varied from good to bad, and even of the most promising ones, of as too early to predict there full value either in terms of biological soundness or monetary profitableness.
