- Abstract:
- During the last three years, the Harvard Forest has employed the dial gauge dendrometer to analyze the effects of various silvicultural treatments upon coniferous plantations. The application of the dendrometer enables the evaluation of silvicultural treatments in a comparatively short time. Measurements in two red pine plantations made possible an evaluation of growth responses at daily and weekly intervals during the first season after treatment. Experiments done in Tom Swamp Tract, Compartment IX, Plantation 27-E.
