- Abstract:
- Foreseeing the trend and realizing that these forests of coppice origin will be depended upon in the future to furnish many of our wood products, an experimental area was established on the Harvard Forest in 1940 to determine the various characteristics of such stands, and to devise methods of treating them whereby the possibilities of producing high quality crop trees would be increased. This report is an analysis of the experiment as fas as it has progressed up to the present time. Prospect Hill Tract, Compartment VIII, Stand Hd-8 was used for this report.
