- The purpose of this paper is to compare the stands of Compartment 8 of the Tom Swamp block [TS VIII] as determined by E. P. Stephens [on 1947 stand map] with the Forest Cover Types of the Eastern United States as determined by a committee of the Society of American Foresters in 1932.
