- Abstract:
- With the inception of the Landsat program in 1972, computer processing of multispectral satellite data provided a potentially cheap and rapid method for producing land use and vegetation maps of extensive areas. A Land Resources Survey project in Sierra Leone provided the context for a preliminary investigation of the application of existing computer programs to the production of such maps for a representative area in the humid tropics.
