- Abstract:
- The architecture of trees is very important to their existance and survival. Since photosynthesis is the plant's way of collecting energy from the sun, leaf area exposed to light is what a plant strives for. In setting up the structure in a plant it is necessary to both maximize the amount of photosynthesis that can be done throughout the day, and to minimize the total length of the structure, minimizing the work necessary for the plant to function.
