- Abstract:
- Thirty-two years ago, a fire swept up the western slope of Prospect Hill, burning over the crest and down to the edge of the Black Gum Swamp before it was extinguished. Three decades later, the effects of the fire are still very much present, both in trees that predate the fire and in those which grew afterward. The purpose of this study will be to analyze the effects of the fire and to answer the question: What changes did the 1957 fire make in the Prospect Hill tract?
