- This article describes the use of a geographic information system to site land uses. It reports on a portion of project ORPHEUS, a hypothetical land use planning exercise sponsored by Prime Computer, Inc. to demonstrate and expllore the integrated use of multiple geoprocessing tools. The allocation model described employs and iterative and heuristic process to interrelate proposed uses.
