  • In September 1989, 0.5 ha of a 50-year-old hardwood forest was pulled down, simulating windstorm damage. This site near Prospect Hill Road served as a trial run for a larger simulated hurricane area planned for 1990. Researchers have been involved in a detailed analysis of the patterns of vegetation damage created by this disturbance.
