- Abstract:
- In order to further the goals of the Harvard Forest LTER, to accommodate studies at increasingly broader scales, to expand our studies in biodiversity, and to synthesize studies across scales we propose a supplemental initiative comprising four major parts: 1. establishment of significant new capabilities in data management, 2. expansion and integration of remote sensing capabilities, 3. enhancement of our research effort on organic matter dynamics by Dr. E. Pallant at Allegheny College, and 4. major improvement of existing systematic collections of plants and insects through Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) opportunities.
