- Abstract:
- The project seeks to assess the effects of a high water table on eastern hemlock (Tsuga Canadensis L.) growth. A small sampling of trees in a hemlock stand adjoining the beaver area were cored. Results show that the saturated soil has a negative effect on hemlock growth and that the beaver is at least partly responsible for the slowdown in hemlock growth.
