- Abstract:
- The experiment was conducted in order to better understand what causes snow cover to linger in certain parts of the Harvard Forest. Taking advantage of a large snowfall this winter, snow depth measurements in late April were taken. By investigating what types of tree cover may obstruct sunlight from hitting the forest floor we'll gain a better grasp on the factors of tree cover that allow snow to remain in some environments, but not in others.
