- Abstract:
- A study of growth rates of 3 conifer species (red spruce, Picea rubens; white pine, Pinus strobus; and Canadian hemlock, Tsuga canadensis) in swamp and upland habitats in the Prospect Hill Tract of Harvard Forest. Comparisons were made between a wet site and an upland site on the southeast edge of Black Gum Swamp and on the northwest edge of the swamp. Cores were taken from 2 mature trees of each species at each site.
