  • A study of three closely growing species with different leafing characteristics-an evergreen conifer (Pinus strobus), a larch tree (Larix laricina), and deciduous broadleaf (Fraxinus americana)-are examined for their competitive growth performances in a plantation of the Harvard Forest, where growth conditions have been fairly uniform.
