- Abstract:
- In order to further advance the understanding of disturbance on species distribution I propose to undertake a novel approach that follows the spatial dynamics of two distinct tree species (white pine and hemlock) with unique life histories over a period of 300 years in the town of Petersham, MA, factoring in multiple disturbances and human pressures from the initial clearing of the land, tilage, regrowth, timber harvest, and natural disasters.
