- Abstract:
- The acoustic niche hypothesis, fairly recent extension of ecological niche theory, states that the sound spectrum is limited resource over which sound-producting species compete. Therefore, the hypothesis states that these species should evolve to partition the sound spectrum in a way that minimizes acoustic competition and interference.
