- Install two new walk-up canopy towers and associated tramways for instrumentation. These towers and tramways will provide:
- 1. Within- and above-canopy access to researchers, educators, and students.
- 2. Increased robustness of a 375-ha field wireless communications network to link research and researchers at Harvard Forest with researchers in their offices and laboratories, educators and students in their classrooms all over the world, and the general public that is interested in research in forested ecosystems.
- 3. New educational opportunities for visitors to the Harvard Forest to experience and learn about forest ecology from the ground through the canopy.
