- [Life in Letters book says that "end of letter is missing", but the transcription is out of order and the end of the April 28 letter is included in the March 16 letter, minus a phrase assuring Fisher that the ragged and weedy-looking plant was said by M. Bourget to be the real Asphodel. Billy is William James, Jr., Harry is Henry James 2nd, Peggy is Margaret James.]
