- • Allen, Shirley, Professor of Forestry at University of Michigan – O and C lands report [Oregon and California railroad land grant]
- • American-Scandinavian Foundation (The) – Request by the foundation to place Scandinavian forester with forestry department. Includes response from Shepard with reference to limiting the number of students due to damage caused by 1938 hurricane and resulting salvage work.
- • Apple, L. S. – request for information about tree grown in China, acknowledged by W. H. Cummings (Forest Assistant) and forwarded to Oakes Ames. Includes letter to Cummings from Ames and copy of Ames' letter to Mr. Apple.
