- Taken in connection with Hall's study of pitch pine.
- 2301. Mature open grown pitch pine 25" d.b.h. and 61 feet in height. (fig. 1)
- 2302. A pitch pine leader and one set of laterals showing copnes one year old as contrasted with detached mature cones. (fig. 2)
- 2303. Some scattered pitch pine sprouts on a burn with scrub oak and vaccinium taking up the spaces between the pines. (fig. 3)
- 2304. Pitch pine sprouts with a very dense stand of scrub oak underneath. This area was burned about 24 years ago. (fig. 4)
