- In the Cabot Experimental Nursery white pine and white ash, two of our most valuable trees, are being grown for genetics studies. The seed was collected in many parts of eastern North America. To learn the soil requirements for the best growth and the peculiarities of difference geographic strains, the beds of young trees received varying kinds of nutrient.
